David Hockney Exhibition Poster, 1994
This original David Hockney poster was from his 1994 exhibition at the Salts Mill Gallery in Yorkshire. The print is especially poignant as Hockney was from Yorkshire and he returned throughout his career time and time again and eventually settled there in his later life. The poster is a work from the New Drawings exhibition depicting two dachshunds sleeping on an arm chair. The simplicity of his sweeping pencil lines to form the shape of the dogs outlines his extraordinary ability to capture nature in a simple line. This work was bought at auction from St Ives in 2020.
