Heidi Konig, 'Ama Dablam' signed print
Silkscreened signed work and an edition of 150. Heidi Konig is a German-born artist, now working in UK, as a full time printmaker and painter - with commissions and exhibitions for a variety of clients and galleries. Heidi works on her prints in a very spontaneous way using the etching plate as a drawing board. She will then hand colour every print with many of the key details being added after they have been through the press. Travel is an important inspiration for Heidi and she makes regular trips overseas to immerse herself in the sights sounds and smells of new cultures and environments. Her bold abstract etchings convey a sensual picture of where she has been and what she has experienced. As the work is large, it is a simple piece for above a bed or a chest of draws. As Konig is based in Cornwall, her works emulate the Cornish landscape, thus this work is perfect for a seaside location.
