From around 1925 illustrator and designer M. Mantelet created a set of drawings that depicted French interiors. Some of his works are in Les Musees de la Ville de Paris. This work in particular has been labled by the artist of the location he painted the work in, 38 rue du Coliseé in Paris. This small piece depicts a mirror that the artist has painted in colour to imagine an illusion of the reflective plate. Above is a decorative frieze that has been painted in fine detail. The work is signed by the artist and is completely original.
